The company, which moved into a 10,000 sq ft two storey office unit in phase one at Smithy Wood in 2009, has now signed a new lease for a further 4,000 sq ft on the ground floor of the neighbouring office building.
Since moving to the site, Arthrex has enjoyed consistent growth, launching thousands of new medical products every year.
The company’s recent expansion signals the near full occupation of all 165,000 sq ft of developed accommodation at Smithy Wood in phases one and two. One 4,000 sq ft first floor office now remains available.
Smithy Wood sits next to junction 35 of the M1. It is home to companies including Kier, DPD, Medilink UK and Konica Minolta.
Regeneration specialist St Paul’s Developments, in a joint venture partnership with The Norfolk Estate, has transformed 20 acres of the 50 acre site and the partnership recently launched the third phase which extends to 29 acres of ‘oven ready’ enterprise zone status land.
David Newton, managing director of St Paul’s Developments, said: “We are delighted to have been able to accommodate Arthrex’s expansion at Smithy Wood.
“Between Smithy Wood and our nearby Junction 35a business park, we have a high number of occupiers from the medical sectors and it’s interesting to have seemingly created a hub for these industries.
“With only one floor now remaining of our built stock, we are focussing our attention on the possibilities for the extensive 29 acre site at Smithy Wood which has EZ status and can accommodate large occupiers up to 300,000 sq ft.”
